Scout Briefs

Competitor intelligence briefs for founders who need a clear picture, not a dashboard.

Scout Brief is a structured PDF on a fixed competitor set. Pricing, positioning, GTM moves, and gaps, researched to a fixed scope, delivered on a fixed timeline.

Who it's for / not for

Good fit

  • Founders prepping pricing, positioning, or a fundraise narrative
  • Operators who want one clear PDF before a board or strategy meeting
  • Teams that will act on a snapshot, not wait for a monitoring product
  • People who prefer fixed scope and fixed price over open-ended retainers

Not a fit

  • Ongoing competitor monitoring or weekly digests
  • Legal discovery, M&A due diligence, or anything requiring counsel
  • Requests for private / non-public data, scrapes behind logins, or hacking
  • “Tell me everything about the market” with no named rivals

FAQ

What's your turnaround?

Lite: 3 business days. Standard: 5. Premium: 7. The clock starts when your intake form is complete, not at checkout. Weekends and US holidays don't count as business days.

Can I get revisions?

Lite: no revision round (we fix clear factual errors we introduced). Standard: one revision for facts/clarifications within the original scope. Premium: two revision passes, still bound to the original SKU scope (not a new research project).

What sources do you use?

Public web: company sites, pricing pages, blogs, docs, news, filings, app stores, and public social/ad libraries where available. We list sources in the appendix. We do not access private accounts, paywalled data you haven't licensed, or non-public systems.

How many competitors do I get?

Absolute counts by tier: Lite 3, Standard 5, Premium 8. You can name them at intake; if you name fewer, we fill the set from public discovery. Not an unbounded market map.

What if intake is incomplete?

We can't start without your company context and enough signal to build the competitor set. If we need clarification, we'll email you; turnaround pauses until you reply.

Refunds?

If we miss the promised turnaround by more than two business days without notice, we'll refund or re-deliver at your choice. Scope changes after intake may require a new order. Digital deliverables are otherwise non-refundable once research has started.
